Women's Legacies Foundation

The mission of the Women's Legacies Foundation is to empower women to transform their unique and communal histories, stories, experiences, values, and blessings into legacies for their families and communities. The goals of the Women's Legacies Foundation include providing legacy resources to women throughout North America in shelters and prisions, making women's legacies circles available to women living below, at, or near the poverty line, and celebrating the unique lives of women in the community.

To realize this mission, the Women's Legacies Foundation:

  • offers presentations, workshops, and seminars
  • trains facilitators for this work, and its witnessing in women's circles
  • creates resources and materials
  • collects and transmits women's creative legacy expressions (on the web & in other media) to celebrate the significance of our stories, values, and wisdom.

"Legacies, the footprints we leave behind, prove that we were here: we lived, we mattered, we made a difference. We grew up in a culture and at a time when women's stories and experience were neither recorded nor valued. Legacy work, one part self-discovery and finding your unique voice, the other part sharing our values and wisdom with those who matter most, is a record of who you are, a link to your past and a gift to the future."
